| 内容記述 | The main purpose of this paper is to reconsider the ecological movement in the environmental education (EE) in light of John Dewey's theory of biocentrism. Contemporary ecological sense of nature has much influence on EE, but this conception has two difficulties; one is to be based on a man-nature (man-environment) dualism, and the other is only to praise a romantic sense of symbiosis with ignoring natural fierceness. This paper has two parts: the history of Japanese EE, and Deweyan contribution to EE. The latter, as I would like to call this "the third EE," rejects a dualistic ecology and optimistic ecocentrism. What are needed are a real, undistorted understanding of man-nature relationship and a reconstruction of EE by biocentrist vision of life process. | |||||||||||
