This is the fourth report of a series of studies on the adaptive processes in the Department of Human Environmental Studies at Nagoya Sangyo University. In this report, based on our four-year-longitudinal research, brief summaries are also included in each section. Section 1 focuses on the concept of human environmental studies and points our some problems related to them. Section 2 suggests that students who major in the area of environmental psychology tend to understand what our university's environmental psychology is, whereas they are worried about the relationship between the field of study and jobs which they will take. Section 3 finds that the degree of importance for student's own university life at school entry affects later part of their school life. Section 4 shows that our students acknowledge the significance of English as a tool for international communication but nonetheless they are reluctant to advance their own English skills. |
